How We Created Content Strategy For Colgate's New Product Launch

How The Project Got Initiated

We were approached by the Upwork Talent Group team as they were looking for content strategists for an enterprise client. They did not disclose the client during the initial Zoom meetings.

The hiring team found our past work to be great, and they introduced us to Colgate-Palmolive.

We signed the independent contractor agreement and accustomed ourselves with the brand “Colgate”. 

We had a number of meetings with Colgate’s Asia Pacific team and understood their content requirements.

Colgate team even gave us an email ID on their official domain and welcomed us as a part of their extended team.

About Colgate-Palmolive And The Brand "Colgate"

Colgate-Palmolive is an American multinational consumer products company. They manufacture and market health, hygiene, and personal care products.

Colgate is a brand used for oral hygiene products such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwashes, and dental floss.

The Work We Did

We were given the task to plan and write articles on teeth whitening and gum health – two new sections in the oral health blogs.

At that time, Colgate wanted to create content to inform users about their new teeth-whitening products.

We followed the ToFu MoFu BoFu approach and did advanced keyword research while thinking about why people need teeth whitening and the things that cause teeth yellowing. After finalizing the keywords, we wrote content to cover the entire buyer journey.

Internal linking played a crucial role in our strategy which led to low bounce rates and high engagement. We naturally integrated the new products in the articles without sounding salesy – informing readers about how to whiten their teeth the east way with Colgate.

The Final Results

The blogs we wrote for Colgate rank among the top positions on search engines and drive highly engaged traffic. 

Colgate already has a high trust among users, and we were successful in utilizing this trust to inform people about Colgate’s newest teeth-whitening products. 

The Colgate team is impressed by our simple yet powerful approach to covering the entire buyer journey with content funnels. 

We mapped simple keywords like ‘coffee stains on teeth’ and ‘how to whiten my teeth’ to their newly launched products. The good thing is that such blogs are not only driving traffic but are also aiding in actual sales.
